Just saw the most beautiful little Rufous Hummingbird [click]. He was at my kitchen window feeder and was so lovely! I wasn't sure if he was an Allen's or a Rufous but when he flew off I could see that his whole back was orange. The really cool thing was that in the light we had, his gorget was flashing yellow -- so pretty. Of course, the camera was in the other room and he was so fidgety I didn't dare move. I just stood there watching him feeling amazed at his tininess -- I'm so used to the Anna's Hummingbirds we usually see but the Rufous seems so small compared with them!
